Acciona picks new CEO for infrastructure division

Luis Castilla, chairman of Acciona Agua since January 2010, has been appointed CEO of the group's new infrastructure, water and services division in a corporate shake-up due to take effect from 1st January 2014.

Following this reorganization, Acciona's two main operational areas will be: Acciona Energy and Acciona Infrastructure, Water & Service. Guided, respectively, by Rafael Mateo and Luis Castilla.

José Díaz-Caneja, currently Director of Business Development for the Middle East and Africa, will take the position of ACCIONA Agua General Manager since 1st January 2014.

Luis Castilla is Civil Engineer at the Higher Technical School of Civil Engineering, Polytechnic University of Madrid (1984).

Since 1984 until July 1990, he worked at Project and Services (PROSA) from FOCSA group.

In 1993 he joined the Servicios y Procesos Ambientales, S.A. Entrerprise, from FCC Group, as Technical Sales Manager, until January 2002. When he began working at Pridesa, as Executive Director. He also managed the subsequent acquisition of Pridesa by Acciona and the merger with Infilco to create Acciona Agua.

Luis is responsible for the overall business strategy, delivering business performance. He is the Chairman of Acciona Agua since January 2010.

Díaz-Caneja is a Civil Engineer and MBA by IESE. He joined ACCIONA Agua in 2002, developing his commercial activity at an international level, until 2007. He was in a break for 4 years, working for a public-private project finance institution (Foro PPP). At the end of 2011, he rejoined the ACCIONA Agua's team assuming his current position.
