Access Capital Partners holds the first closing of its European Infrastructure fund of funds

Access Capital Partners has announced the first closing of Access Capital Fund Infrastructure (ACF Infrastructure), its fund of funds dedicated to European Infrastructure Strategies.

With a target size of €250 million (US$272 million), the fund has so far secured €130 million (US$142 million) of commitments from existing insurance and pension fund Investors. The overall objective of ACF Infrastructure is to provide Investors with an attractive risk-adjusted return, with yearly cash distributions representing a relatively strong component of the total performance.

In order to achieve such objective, the fund will commit capital to European funds focusing primarily on core infrastructure and brownfield strategies offering predictable cash flows and some degree of inflation protection. ACF Infrastructure will combine primary and secondary fund positions, and to a lesser extent direct co-investments into assets generating cash yield.

Concurrently to the first closing, Access completed its first direct co-investment alongside an infrastructure fund in the energy sector in Finland. This direct investment has been syndicated between ACF Infrastructure and one singleclient infrastructure fund advised by Access.

Agnès Nahum and Philippe Poggioli, the Access’ Managing Partners, commented:

“These events constitute significant milestones in the development of Access’ Infrastructure investment activity. This is the third direct co-investment deal completed in 2015 in this market and our dedicated infrastructure team is currently working on a dynamic pipeline of attractive fund and direct investment opportunities. We appreciate the support of our existing investors broadening the scope of their investments managed by Access and are confident that the strategy pursued by the team in the European Infrastructure market is particularly well suited to the objectives of long term institutional investors.”
