Abertis is in exclusive negotiations for the acquisition of A4 and A31 Italian toll roads

Abertis has signed an exclusivity agreement with the consortium A4 Holding for the possible acquisition of this industrial group, which includes the A4 and the A31 Italian toll roads.

A4 Holding is formed by Banca Intesa San Paolo, Astaldi and Tabacchi.

The agreement, which is subjected to the corresponding due diligence process, foresees the takeover of the industrial holding by Abertis before the end of the year.

A4 Holding main assets are:

  • the Autostrada A4 toll road stretch that links Brescia and Padova. The stretch is part of a motorway that connects Turin and Trieste via Milan and Venice.
  • the Autostrada A31 toll road stretch that links Vicenza, Piovene Rocchette. The stretch is part of a motorway that connects the trunk road SS434 with the town of Piovene Rocchette. The A31 is interconnected with the A4  in the city of Vicenza.

The agreement confirms the strong pipeline for growth projects Abertis is working in for a global amount of €9 billion (US$9.86 billion), as it was reported during the last half-year results presentations.
