Abertis acquires 50% stake in two Chilean highways

Abertis, through its subsidiary Abertis Autopistas Chile has closed an agreement with Fondo de Inversión Público Penta Las Américas Infraestructura I and Fondo de Inversión Público Penta Las Américas Infraestructura II for the acquisition of the 50% stake of the share capital of Infraestructura Dos Mil, parent company of the concessionaires Autopista del Sol and Autopista Los Libertadores.

The acquisition has been closed for an amount of 93,530 million Chilean peso (€134 million) and gives Abertis the complete control (100%) of these Chilean concessionaries. The deal shows Abertis' commitment to consolidate its industry leadership role in projects in which it participates and illustrates its ability to grow its asset base at attractive terms.

Autopista del Sol is a 133 kilometer-road that links Santiago de Chile with the port of San Antonio. Meanwhile, Autopista Los Libertadores, a 116 kilometer-road, connects the Chilean capital with major cities to the north of the Santiago Metropolitan Region. They hold expiration dates in 2019 and 2026 respectively, and they contributed an EBITDA of €62 Mn in 2014. Abertis has these concessions in its portfolio since 2012.

Through this agreement, Abertis boosts its commitment to Chile, where it operates six high- capacity roads with a total of more than 770 kilometers, and where it is the largest toll road operator in terms of EBITDA. Chile is the fourth biggest market for Abertis in terms of revenue (4% of Group total).
