Renfe is a Spanish state-owned company with the purpose of providing passenger and freight transport services by rail and other complementary services and activities connected to railway transport. The company also carries out the manufacturing and maintenance of railway rolling stock. Renfe operates Spanish Railways General Interest Network, commuter rail services and the second largest highspeed network worldwide, which is connected to the European railway system.
