GuinéTelecom is Guinea-Bissau's only fixed-line operator that went out of business in 2013 after being declared bankrupt. On September 14, 2021, the company received a license to operate mobile communications from the National ICT Regulatory Authority (ARN) and Communications Minister Augusto Gomez. The company includes Guinetel's mobile communications division.
