FCC was founded in 1992 following the merger of two companies: Construcciones y Contratas (1944) and Fomento de Obras y Construcciones (1900). FCC emphasizes ensuring public satisfaction with its activities and developing a broad range of services for citizens to make the environment more eco-efficient. FCC has three major areas of activity:
The Infrastructure division works in the areas of construction and industrial activity;
The Services division covers two large areas: environmental services and services for citizens; and
Energy is a business area that is undergoing a process of consolidation, and which generates business in the field of renewable energy.
