3i BIFM (formerly Barclays Infrastructure Funds Management) was one of the first firms to raise funds dedicated to investing in social infrastructure projects, including those sponsored by the UK Government´s Private Finance Initiative (PFI) and Public Private Partnership (PPP) Programmes. The team has raised over GBP 1.7b through six infrastructure funds since 1996, investing in over 200 European social infrastructure projects, predominantly within the UK. The fund is investing in projects within the following sectors: education (43%), health (31%), renewables (13%), courts and custodial (8%) and government accommodation and local facilities (5%).
